Commonalities Among Successful Entrepreneurs
Hey E-preneur!
For the past 30 days, I’ve been on a cleanse - free of social media, eating out, and drinking and I’ve never felt more clear on my vision. These last 30 days have allowed me to become completely aware of who I am, why I behave in certain ways, and what I need in order to progress in the future. I’ve spent so much time alone talking to my BFF God and I’m just so happy that I’ve made the choice to become more disciplined, obedient, and free of distractions. I’ve been so quiet and to myself lately but honestly I’ve been doing great and just practicing solitude to become more self-aware and enlightened.
Over these 30 days, I have also been spending a lot of time on YouTube watching documentaries, interviews, and videos of successful entrepreneurs. What I’ve noticed is these entrepreneurs all have commonalities around what it takes to be successful so I want to share them with you because this is what I constantly hear:
Your Thoughts Become Reality
This statement is so true! I learned this tip a long time ago by reading the book The Secret which is a life changer and I noticed over the past 30 days that the successful entrepreneurs all have either read this book or understand the power of your thoughts. Your thoughts truly become your reality and you can simply manifest what you want in life by thinking that you already have what you want. Just as you can think positive things in your life you can also think the negative things into reality so be careful with your thoughts.
Create a Morning Routine
This is also another great tip for life that I’ve tried to master. When I was working for myself full-time I was really disciplined and lived by my morning routine and it really helped me prepare for a productive day, I somewhat touched on this topic here. A lot of successful entrepreneurs mention starting their day by meditating/praying, expressing gratitude for what they already have, and doing a quick exercise. I’ve been really consistent with praying every morning, my cousin and I do daily devotionals through the Bible App which has become a life-changer and allows me to have a clear mind for the day. Expressing gratitude is also something that I enjoy doing because we have to be grateful for everything we currently have in order to receive more in life. Now… exercising is something I have to work a little more on but I have been trying to incorporate 100 squats a day in my routine to start off.
Build a Team
This is something that I really struggle with within my business however when I did have a team for my business I did see the positive impact it made. We have to realize that we can’t do everything alone, it really does take a village! Learn how to delegate tasks to other people and stop trying to do everything alone. I wrote about this a while back here.
Start With What You Have
This will change your mindset completely. You don’t have to be perfect at what you do, just start with what you have. I’ve been listening to Pastor Michael Todd and Les Brown a TON and both of them preach about how much we have to start with what we have and focus on progression, not perfection. You can’t get to perfection without going through the process and gradually progressing. So just start, it doesn’t need to be perfect and you don’t have to have all the tools you “think” you need.
Always Be Learning
One of the most important things about business and life, in general, is to constantly educate yourself. You should always be coachable and willing to learn new material. My old manager used to always tell us “you don’t know what you don’t know” and that’s one of the realist quotes I ever heard. You honestly don’t know what you don’t know and you’ll never understand life if you don’t educate yourself. If there is something that you aren’t knowledgeable about rather than staying in that same state of mind go out and educate yourself. There are way too many videos on Youtube and content on Google to not know the answer to any question you ever wondered about. I literally learned how to be a business owner and run my first business all through Google University so you can too!
