Dealing with Bad Reviews
Hey E-preneurs! This may be something that we do not want to face but we have to because it’s LIFE and we’re not perfect. Have you got any bad reviews on your products?Yesterday I received a negative review from a customer here it is:
I thought I would be upset that someone would give me a 1 star for a review however it actually opened up my eyes and showed me what I need to improve in my business. As a online retailer it is very important to be detailed in your product descriptions so that your customers know exactly what they are purchasing. Another key point to remember that you have probably been hearing your whole life is that “the customer is ALWAYS right”. Take responsibility for any downfalls that may occur in your business and use that for improvement. With this particular item that the customer left a bad review on I feel like the problem could have been avoided by being more detailed in my description. Here is what the description currently states:
The description lets the customer know that one size fits MOST but I could add more to it stating that the hat fits small.
I am 100% all for customer service so of course I had to email the customer and apologize and I also made sure to send her a new hat and give her a discount code. This might not be a smart idea to do for every single customer with a complaint however right now since I am still in the beginning stages I want to keep all my customers happy and coming back to shop.
E-preneurs take those bad reviews and turn them into a learning experience. Apps like Yotpo are great for gaining and managing customer reviews.
