Blossom in Fall
I know you guys have been thinking “Where’s Malli?” but I’m back! When I tell you running a business is hard work, IT IS HARD WORK. Trying to keep up a business with constant changes in the trends, keeping your customers happy, inventory, marketing, and all the other essentials to running a business is tough. To be honest, I almost quit but i’m so happy I didn’t and if you are thinking about it, DON’T.
Now’s the time where I’m taking VITAL XII to the next level and I want you to take this journey with me. Whether you are trying to start your own business, have already started your business, or are just too scared to even try I am here to show you as I go how to get things going with an online e-commerce business.
We often hear about the spring being the time to blossom, but why not get started now and blossom in the fall? Whatever it is you want to do START NOW.
Let me let you in on some things…
So with VITAL XII I've been facing a couple of challenges but one that is the biggest is getting help from the pros. My first year of business (oh yeah VITAL XII is 1 now yay!!) I tried to do everythinggggg myself! From photography to graphic design to email marketing, just everything and it was a challenge however I am grateful that I learned all of that in the beginning because now I know I SUCKED at it! So what did I do? I hired interns who could do the stuff I sucked at. But of course like anything else theres always downfalls. I absolutely loved my interns however I was not making the job easy for them. I didn't make a clear plan of exactly what I needed them to do. I simply thought I could just hire interns and poof all problems solved (YEA RIGHT!). So now I’m back at square one and this time I am going to get all the help I can get from people who are more skilled than me.
Last week, I hired an assistant (so excited!) and I’ve set up an assignment plan for her and weekly assignments. Now that I have a clear understanding of how I can help her help me I think this thing should be running smooth, so lets see how this goes :)
Before I go I just want to share some quick things with you that has helped me get inspired and get into the “Blossom in Fall” mode. Here they are:
Affirmations: Daily affirmations are critical to success because they are constant reminders to yourself of who you ARE and not who you want to be. For example, constantly tell yourself “I am a winner” opposed to “I want to be a winner” or “I will be a winner”. I practice saying my daily affirmations every morning before I start my workday. You have to understand that feeding your brain positive thoughts are so important.
Rituals: Daily rituals are also another way to encourage you to blossom. If everyday you are doing the same thing over and over it is soon going to become a habit, and habits are what will keep you focused and on the right track. Remember, consistency is Key! My daily rituals look a little something like this:
5am-Morning Run/Exercise
5:30am- Take Shower
6am- Leave for Work
6:15am- Listen to EonFire Podcast (In Car)
7am- Get to work- Read Affirmations
7:05am- Write down “Goal List” or you may call it “To do list”
7:10am- Meditate
7:25am- Skim through Emails (respond to important ones)
7:30am- Complete all HPE work (my 9-5.....grr)
8:15am- Read for 30 minutes (book or listen to podcast)
8:45am- Start Research and Complete Goal List
Now everything does not always go in this order due to other obstacles (definitely the working out part haha) however I try to stick to this to keep me on track
3. Podcast: As an e-preneur you have to constantly educate yourself because you are NEVER going to stop learning. I listen to a podcast EoFire which is hosted by John Lee Dumas and everyday he interviews successful entrepreneurs and they tell their stories. This is extremely helpful because it keeps me updated on new business practices as well as dos and don’ts in business.
4. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE/ LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE: I put this in all caps because it is so so important. Have you ever heard the saying “Birds of a feather flock together” or “You are who you hang around”? Well they definitely weren't saying that for fun. This statement is so true and I try my hardest to keep myself only around people who have the same goals and mindset as me. (It’s okay to step out of your comfort zone and network with people who align with your goals)
Try some of these tactics and watch how you change for the better.
I’m so excited that you guys are back on this journey with me, it will be so awesome for you to look back in a year or two and be able to say “I knew everything it took for her to build this brand”
P.S. - Im currently in Las Vegas for the Retail Global Conference and I cannot wait to share with you some major gems I learned….Stay Tuned.
